Choose the Right Operating Mode for Your Application
Timer boards typically offer two operating modes: continuous and on-demand. In the continuous mode, the timer board constantly initiates pulsing to clean the filters while the dust collector is in operation. This mode is suitable for extremely demanding applications that require constant cleaning.
On the other hand, if your application is not highly demanding, on-demand cleaning may be a more suitable solution. With on-demand cleaning, the operator sets a high and low differential pressure limit on the timer board which tells the cleaning system when to pulse. When the DP reaches the high limit the cleaning system pulses the filters until the DP drops to the low limit. At that point the cleaning system turns off and waits for pressure to build again. By limiting the pulse cleaning to only when needed we prolong the life of filters and diaphragm valves, reduce energy consumption, lower labor costs, and provide consistent airflow and pickup velocities.
