Rotary Valve

U.S. Air Filtration provides a complete line of rotary airlocks suitable for air lock applications ranging from gravity discharge of filters, rotary valves, cyclone dust collectors, and rotary airlock storage devices to precision feeders for dilute phase and continuous dense phase pneumatic convey systems.  Rotary Airlock Feeders/ Rotary Airlock Valves are used in pneumatic conveying systems, dust control equipment, and as volumetric feed-controls to maintain an even flow of material through processing systems.  The basic use of the rotary airlock feeder is as an airlock transition point, sealing pressurized systems against loss of air or gas while maintaining a flow of material between components with different pressure.  Rotary Airlock Valves are also widely used as volumetric feeders for metering materials at precise flow rates from bins, hoppers, or silos onto conveying or processing systems.

A rotary valve is of no use by itself.  Rotary airlock, airlocks, and rotary valves are useful as one component in a bulk or specialty material handling system.  Rotary Airlock Feeders have wide application in industry wherever dry free-flowing powders, granules, crystals, or pellets are used.  Typical materials include:  cement, sugar, minerals, grains, plastics, dust, fly ash, flour, gypsum, lime, coffee, cereals, pharmaceuticals, etc...

It is important to us that we offer you the most effective solution for your specific rotary airlock valve needs.  In order to do so, we will need the following information from you when you call our parts department at 888-221-0312 to place an order:

  • What size valve are you looking for? (4x4, 6x6, 8x8, etc... Custom Sizing Available)
  • Is the valve round or square?
  • Function of the valve-- is it airlock only, feeder only, or airlock-feeder?  (Airlock only minimizes system air loss while allowing the transfer of material between vessels with differing pressure; Feeder only regulates the continuous flow of material between vessels sharing the same pressure; Airlock-Feeder minimizes system air loss while regulating the flow of material between vessels with differing pressure)
  • What is feeding the valve? (hopper, cyclone, shredder, silo, filter receiver, dryer, baghouse, screw, mixer, other)
  • What is the valve discharging into? (hopper, belt, tank, screw, chute, vac line, airslide, mixer, pressure line, other)
  • Specific pressure measurement above and below the airlock. (positive, negative, atmospheric)
  • Temperature above and below the airlock
  • Is the valve choke fed?
  • Diameter of the conveying line.
  • Humidity above and below the airlock valve. (high, average, low)
  • Bulk density of the material that the valve will be feeding
  • Particle type/shape (pellet, granular, powder, flake, chip, curl, lump, fibrous)
  • Maximum particle size
  • Flow Rate
  • Abrasive vs. corrosive
